How to Play Klondike Solitaire
Objective: Move all 52 cards to the four Foundation piles in ascending order (Ace to King) for each suit.
The Piles
- Tableau: The seven piles in the main area. Build these piles down by alternating colors (e.g., a red 6 on a black 7). You can move single cards or stacks of face-up cards. Only a King can be placed in an empty tableau spot.
- Foundations: The four empty piles at the top right. Build these up by suit, starting with the Ace.
- Stock: The face-down pile at the top left. Click it to draw one card to the Waste pile.
- Waste:1 The face-up pile next to the Stock. The top card is available to be played to the Tableau or Foundations. When the Stock is empty, click the outline to reset it from the Waste pile.
Actions
- Drag & Drop: Move cards or stacks between piles, or you can:
- Click to Mark & Move: Click a face-up card or stack to mark it, then click an empty pile or a valid card on another pile to drop the marked cards. Click the marked card again to unmark it.
