Objective: Capture all of your opponent's pieces, or block them so they cannot make any valid moves.
Setup: The board has alternating dark and light squares. Pieces are placed only on the dark squares.
Movement:
Click on one of your pieces (red) to start moving. Pieces move diagonally forward (towards the opponent's side) one square at a time.
Player pieces (Red) move upwards (decreasing row index). AI pieces (Blue) move downwards (increasing row index).
Capturing:
To capture an opponent's piece, you must jump over it diagonally to an empty square immediately beyond it. The captured piece is removed from the board.
Mandatory Captures: If you have an opportunity to capture a piece, you *must* take it. You cannot choose a non-capture move if a capture is available.
Multi-Jumps: If, after a capture, your piece is in a position to make another capture, you must continue jumping until no more captures are possible with that same piece.
Kings:
When a piece reaches the opponent's back row, it becomes a King. The turn ends immediately upon promotion (you cannot continue jumping).
Kings are marked with a 'K' and can move and capture both forward and backward diagonally, but still only one square/jump at a time.
Winning & Draws: You win if you capture all of the AI's pieces, or block them. The game ends in a draw if 40 moves pass without a piece being captured or a non-king moving.
